Footscray

VicUrban is working in partnership with the City of Maribyrnong, government departments and agencies, the community and Victoria University to encourage the regeneration of central Footscray as a vibrant economic, cultural and educational centre for the western suburbs.

The project aims to strengthen Footscray as the commercial and transport centre for Melbourne's west.  Only 5km from Melbourne Central Business District, it is important that Footscray is strengthened as a transport hub for both suburban and regional public transport services. Improved connections between the station, other modes of public transport and key places of activity (such as Victoria University and the retail precinct) will help to encourage private sector investment through development opportunities within the station precinct.
